The exhibition ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ is shown at the Prague City Museum until the end of March this year. ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ exhibition shows a wide range of various art works such as paintings and drawings of the collection of Rudolf II.
The famous art collection of Rudolf II used to be the largest art collection that ever existed but after the death of the emperor most of the collection was replaced to Vienna and some of the paintings were brought to Sweden to please Queen Christina. At the exhibition ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ visitors have the chance to discover the most outstanding items of the collection of the emperor. At the exhibition art works of the most famous and influential painters of this era are on display such as Bartholomeus Spranger, Hans von Aachen, Joseph Heintz the Elder, Pieter Stevens, Dirk de Quade van Ravesteyn, Matthias Gundelach and Adriaen de Vries. Apart from these several other images are shown to the visitors which were added by the Prague City Museum.
The exhibition ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ takes place from 12th November 2014 to 29th March 2015 at the Prague City Museum.
